hall

The idea for a village community hall grew from a request from Igoda primary school for a school hall. This is too large a construction for the school alone, so the combination of a Community Hall that is built at the school was born.

Completed in 2009, the hall was opened on December 1st when Iringa Region celebrated World AIDS day in the hall, quite an opening event! Over a 1000 people attended for a day packed with performances on the stage, including testimonies from HIV+ sufferers.

It is part of the project to involve the community in educational programs to increase the awareness of HIV AIDS and the effectiveness of Anti Retroviral Drugs, as it is still difficult to persuade people to get themselves tested.

The hall has a kitchen and toilet facilities attached so is of a huge benefit to the combined villages of Igoda and Luhunga
